What year did you start growing Brugmansia?
2001
What is your first recollection of the start of your love for Brugmansia?
My first recollection is when I got my first Brug in 2001, and it slowly grew from there, but, in 2007, my collection really began to take off when I got my computer.
What is your single most favorite Brugmansia and why?
Superspot is my very favorite Brug, because it’s almost red in color when it’s mature.

Brug Paradise!
Elizabeth's Superspot
What is your hopes for the future of Brugmansia?
My personal goal would be to come up with a disease resistant Brug.
Does anyone in your family share your enjoyment of Brugmansia?
All of my family enjoy and appreciate my Brugmansia collection, and enjoy visiting when they are all in bloom. One of my daughters has three Brugmansia planted in the ground at her home, and have all grown and become large.
A very nicely growing Snowbank
Are you growing any seedlings this year?
I’ve gotten many seedlings this year to add to my collection. They are all from other Brug enthusiasts and hybridizers. I started my seedlings in February, and it’s about the time where I put them outside now.
How do you start your seedlings and over-winter your Brugmansia?
I overwinter all of my Brugs under grow lights in the basement. It’s a big job, but the payoff is the magnificent blooms!
What other plants do you love collecting or growing?
I have recently started collecting Clivia. I also have a nice cactus collection and some Bougainvillea among other interesting plants including some Datura.
Cacti - another passion of Elizabeth's
Beautiful Daturas - bitten by that bug too!
